Privacy Policy
TerritoryDB is local-first. Your account and territory data stays on your device. This policy explains the limited information we do collect, why, and what control you have over it.
1. Who we are
TerritoryDB ("TerritoryDB," "we," "us," or "our") is a local-first sales workspace for individual sales reps. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information in connection with our marketing website and the TerritoryDB application during its open beta. The service is operated by [Legal Entity].
2. The local-first principle: your data stays on your device
TerritoryDB is built so the data you create inside the app, including your accounts, territories, notes, next steps, tasks, contacts, deals, and forecast, is stored locally on your own device. This information is not uploaded to, synced through, or stored on TerritoryDB servers.
- ✓Your working data is held in local browser storage and, for the desktop app, in your local application data directory.
- ✓You own your data. You can export it and delete it from within the app at any time.
- ✓Because this data never leaves your device through us, we cannot read it, and it is not part of any TerritoryDB backup or analytics.
- ✓Clearing your browser storage or uninstalling the app removes that local data. Keeping your own export is your responsibility.
3. Information we do collect
We collect a limited set of information that is necessary to run the open beta:
a. Beta signup information
When you sign up for the beta, we collect your email address through our authentication provider so we can create and secure your account and contact you about product updates. If you choose to share additional details such as your name, role, or company, we use those only to support and improve your experience.
b. Beta account and authentication information
When you sign up for the open beta, we collect login and authentication information needed to create and secure your account. Authentication for the beta is handled through Supabase, our authentication provider. This typically includes your email address and authentication tokens. It does not include the working data you create inside the app, which remains local to your device as described above.
c. Basic technical and usage information
Our website and app hosting may automatically log standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps for security and reliability. During the beta we may collect limited, product-level usage events (for example, that a feature was opened) to improve the product. These events do not include the contents of your accounts, contacts, or deals.
4. How we use information
- ✓To create and secure your beta account and operate the open beta.
- ✓To authenticate beta users and provide access to the application.
- ✓To communicate with you about beta access, updates, and support.
- ✓To maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve the product.
5. We do not sell your data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing.
6. Third-party services
We rely on a small number of infrastructure providers to deliver the service. These providers process limited information on our behalf:
- ✓Supabase — authentication and beta-related backend services (for example, login and feedback or event records).
- ✓Vercel — hosting and delivery of the website and application.
- ✓A form or email provider may be used to receive beta signups and contact requests.
These providers maintain their own privacy and security practices. We share only what is needed for them to perform their function.
7. Data retention
We retain beta account information for as long as needed to operate the beta and to contact you about the product, or until you ask us to delete it. Local data created inside the app is retained on your device under your control and is removed when you delete it or clear your local storage.
8. Your rights and choices
- ✓You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you (such as your beta account details).
- ✓You can unsubscribe from product emails at any time.
- ✓You can export and delete your in-app data directly from within TerritoryDB.
To make a request, contact us using the details below.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold. The local-first design also reduces risk by keeping your working data on your device rather than in a central store. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
TerritoryDB is a business tool intended for adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product evolves, particularly as we move from open beta to general availability. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and material changes will be communicated to beta users.
12. Contact
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to Territorydb.app@gmail.com.
